(meteorobs) Counting method time accuracy
Hi Mark,

Heathkit used to sell (and may still sell) a kit for a combination WWV
receiver and clock with a large LED display. The receiver scans through the
various WWV frequencies (2.5, 5, 10, 15, and 20 Mhz) and the clock is
syncronized exactly with the strongest time broadcast.
If all received signals become too weak, the clock will continue on its own,
but then re-syncronize when the signal is received again.
The problem with this clock in the field is that it requires 110 VAC, and
cannot (the last time I checked) be battery powered. Someone with a current
Heathkit catalog might want to see if this has been changed.
Take care,
