You're absolutely right Joe, as a native of Staten Island, I'm lucky if I can 
get 4th magnitude. Thats why I have to run to the "darkness" of NJ.

I remember 4 years ago, I was in Cimmarron, New Mexico. The Milky Way was 
just blazing. But the part the sticks in my mind was that there was one storm 
cloud with lightning going on inside the cloud. The cloud went from about 10 
deg. to 5 deg. off the horizon. the Milky  Way ran behind the cloud and then 
I actually saw it reappear out of the bottom of the cloud before disappearing 
behind the horizon. I tried to take a photo of that but it didn't come out. I 
will never forget that sight.
