(meteorobs) grazers
I observed two grazers from NW of San Antonio on
the night of the big Leonid display in 1998. These occurred about 12:15 local
time. Both traversed about 120 degrees. Both were in the -1 to -3 mag. range.
Their angular velocity was quite high since the path wasnt foreshortened. It
would have taken a lens of about 18mm f.l. to catch the entire path. Needless to
say these two precursors had us really pumped up for the display that
followed.
