(meteorobs) Quadrantids

I was just looking at the Quadrantids statistics for Southern California
(35o latitude) and it appears to me that the moon will be favorable in
that it will set shortly after midnight being half full. However the
radiant will not be at forty degrees elevation till around four a.m.
leaving about an hour and forty minutes more till morning twilight with
the radiant up to about only 47o elevation. Is that correct? Are
these very unfavorable conditions at this latitude? I presume that this
will mean that the ZHR will be considerably less than the 50 to 200 that
various sources give, for sure.
Happy new year and a very prosperous new century with lots of clear
skies and warm nights. Wait till you young guys have arthritis and then
you will appreciate the warm nights for observing. 8-)) Robert G.
