Slightly off-topic for meteorics, but still of much interest. :)

Subject: HALO & Website update - June 01

Dear Halo Observers,
Here is news of some updates ...
The 'Atmospheric Halos' website
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Has moved to:
http://www.sundog.clara.co.uk/halo/halosim.htm
The 1-2 June update has new images and an extra
section. 'What's New' on the main page takes you
directly to the new pages.
HALO program update (version 3.1.3)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is a minor update.
1) More than 10 million rays can now be plotted. A regrettable
mistake somehow crept into the last release version which
sometimes caused it to crash after 10 million or so rays.
2) Artists incorporating simulations into landscapes found the
horizon and other lines a nuisance. These can now be
suppressed - before starting a simulation - from the
menu [Appearance][Visibility].
3) The interface for handling non water-ice crystals now works
better.
If Halo is already installed, download the 'Upgrade Pack' at
http://ww.sundog.clara.co.uk/halo/upgrade.htm and unzip the files.
No further installation is necessary.
Otherwise install the latest version from
http://ww.sundog.clara.co.uk/halo/downld.htm
Good halo observing!
