Observers in the United States might also want to look at ARLPLOT ETA Meteorological Mapping at <http://www.arl.noaa.gov/ready-bin/arlplot1.pl?metdata=Eta+40+km>. Among other things, it allows you to plot a map for anywhere in the country for a variety of meteorological conditions up to about 48 hours in the future, including total cloud cover and cloud cover at different altitudes. The similar Aviation (AVN) Model maps at <http://www.arl.noaa.gov/ready-bin/arlplot1.pl?metdata=AVN+191+km> allow plotting of predicted total cloud cover for up to 60 hours in the future, although I find they seem less accurate than the ETA model.

Perhaps we might influence Intellicast.com to provide a more detailed sky forecast for the Leonids, since they provide daily viewing forecasts and other information of interest to amateur astronomers on the web alread on the Starcast pages. I always check this site in making my decisions about where to travel for major events.

It would be very helpful to hear others around the country evaluate this web site and comment on its the accuracy and usefulness.
