(meteorobs) Radio Arietids Peaks?

Hi. All
I have had my FM meteor scatter system running all
daylight hours and late into the night since Saturday
June 1st working 89.5 Mhz.Little activity noticed
first two days in daylight hours. Activity started to
increase Monday June 3rd and appeared to me to peak
out somewhere between 11UT-14UT June 5th.Could not
count this peak, to many events happening too fast for
manual real time counts. This I know is called
overdense activity by some radio observers. Very much
reminded me of the 1998 and 2001 Leonids in the FM
band and also an outburst I observed on January 15/16
1999 which I never saw a posting on.Some have
suggested that this was spordic E layer that I have
been observing. If this is spordic E layer then it
mimics identically radio meteors in the FM band
observed audibly with the human ear.If this be the
case then it must bring into question whether any FM
radio meteor observed with the human ear can actually
be of value since distingushing the differences
between the two phenomenons audibly would be
impossible for most humans if not all.I do not believe
this to be the case when I remember the radio meteor
events from the Leonids in 1998 and 2001.If you
observed these storms in the FM band you know what a
radio meteor sounds like. NO QUESTION!How many radio
observers did any of you hear from or read reports
from, that overdense activity caused by spordic E
layer explained the very strong activity observed
during the Leonids in 98 or 01. I do believe it is
most likly none. Now if you wish to make the case that
some spordic E layer is induced by increased meteor
activity as it passes through the ionosphere this I
could believe as an outside possiblitiy. I may except
such explanation for the activity I observed, but I
would still be very suspicious.

On June 5 later in the morning of this outburst or
peak, the activity had slowed down to a point I thought
I could make a rough count. From 16:30 UT til 17:30 UT
I observed 244+ radio meteor echoes.I know I missed
some.75 events coming in 15min. between 16:30UT til
16:45UT.This was just before the radiant passed almost
through the antenna zenith.
I can not remumber if it was in Robert Lunsford's
Meteor activity Outlook E-mail and one of his reply
email but I believe he states that this shower has a
broad maximum. This would not be the first time a
shower showed earlier or later then the predictions
have forcasted. Most likely will not be the last. I am
not an expert just a sky watcher.

I would like to thank E-mail list members for their
replies, observations, opinions,help and encouragement
with this issue.
Stars in your eyes and good listening
