(meteorobs) Re: Question on IRC chat
Kim and All,
Unfortunately the IRC chats fell into oblivion the last few years as
everyone became too busy or schedules changed.
The IRC chats peaked in popularity shortly after the formation of Meteorobs
back in the mid 90's. It was a good resource for newbies to learn on the
spot yet very few took advantage of it. More often than not it turned into a
"bull session" with the same people often discussing subjects way off course
from meteors. I personally found it interesting to chat with new contacts
from Europe and Australia, who were often up at brutally early hours just to
stop by and say hi.
